LIQUID GOLD

In 2023, I entered this piece “Liquid Gold” in the World of Wearable Art competition (WOW). WOW is the world's leading wearable art competition that showcases finalist garments from designers across the globe in a spectacular stage show in New Zealand. This work was a team effort. I collaborated with Stanford Lecturer Becky Bodurtha and fellow students Elzi Thomas, Jess Fairlie, and Vince Pane.

Liquid Gold features a sculpted thermoplastic bodice with a shimmering honeybee broach and silicon honey that drips down the bodice. Real bees coated in gold resin climb up the structural honeycomb skirt while a ruffled shoulder-piece adds delicate drama.

Liquid Gold was selected as a world finalist and shown at the 2023 World of Wearable Art Live Show.
